PRICES FOR WOOL OR MOHAIR ARE THE
SAME, see chart below.
Our mohair (goat) or wool (sheep) shown above comes packaged in loose
ringlets (or partial pelts that you pull or tear apart the ringlets). Each
pelt is from a different animal, so each one is a little different. You may request
the shorter curlier (3" to 4" long) or the longer (4" to 7" long), or
the silky kid. The
color of the mohair or wool is a natural off white or cream. None of
the natural hair is "pure bright white". The whitest
natural hair we have is the curly crepe wool or mohair that comes in a braid. Our antique color has
gold to light brown tips for creating an older antique look. Gray colors are
available, also. If you prefer the Whitest hair, please purchase the
wavy hair or the braid. The synthetic wavy hair that comes by the
yard is
very nice. I prefer the braided wool for the smaller dolls
especially the porcelain.
Our prices are
about half the hobby stores price. The hair comes packaged in quart (4 oz.) or
gallon bags (8 oz.). We now have a new pricing structure. The pelts are sorted by the quality
of the hair.
The finest quality
is the best hair on the pelt or the silky kid.
The better quality is really nice, but not the choice pieces.
The leftovers are what is left after picking through the pelts, some is not
quite so curly or just pieces that are not quite the best of the pelt. Great for the
back of the head or under the beard, or if you prefer straighter hair.
Also has more debris than the other qualities, & is picked over. Not available all the time.
